Odor Foot odors can be very
embarrassing not to mention hard to get rid of. Foot odors stem from
bacteria that live in an around your feet mixing with excessive
perspiration thus causing foot odor .
The key toward reducing foot odor lies in reducing excessive
perspiration.
A home remedy that works wonders involves the use of tea bags,
partcularly black tea bags. Black tea contains tannic acid. Tannic acid
is a drying agent that can be used to reduce perspiration. Try mixing
two tea bags in a basin of hot water. Wait until water cools and soak
feet for 20 minutes, daily. Look for improvement after one week.
You can also try using an antiperspirant spray. Generally most
antiperspirants contain aluminum chloride. Aluminum chloride is also a
drying agent useful in decreasing perspiration. You can try a regular
antiperspirant spray, Tinactin foot spray or Gold Bonds Foot Spray. More
severe cases may require a prescription strength foot spray, prescribed
by your doctor.
If excessive sweating is still a problem, Botox injections may be the
next step. Botox injections in the feet inhibit the chemical messenger
that activates sweating in the sweat glands of the feet.
Fact
250,000 sweat glands in each foot. They produce as much as half a pint
of moisture per day.
